Dear Colleagues,

Please encourage students to consider global programs abroad for Summer 2026. Three different Global Learning summer program opportunities include: 

1. Global Learning - Summer Study Abroad
2. Global Learning - Global Internships
3. Global Learning - Fulbright UK Summer Institutes

As you know, SCU’s Strategic Plan Impact 2030 Priority One: Reach on a Global Scale calls for increasing the number of students who participate in programs abroad. Summer study abroad opportunities diversify the types of global programs in SCU’s Global Learning portfolio of programs abroad, and also provide increased access to global experiences for students as early as the summer after their first year. Global Engagement scholarships are available during the summer; note that federal, state, and SCU financial aid is generally not available for summer abroad.

Applications for 2026-27 abroad open Monday, November 17, 2025, at 1:00 PM PST and close Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 11:59 PM PST. The application period is for programs abroad during Summer 2026, Fall 2026, and Winter/Spring 2027. Applications must be submitted through SCU’s Global Learning Application Portal.

Students, faculty, or staff who have questions or want help should email globallearning@scu.edu. Students should sign up to receive program and advising information and join Peer Advisor Hours.  

Summer academic programs, internships, and Fulbright UK Institutes provide opportunities in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America/Caribbean, and Oceania. Programs and internships range from three to ten weeks. Opportunities are available for all majors.
