As shared previously, federal government changes impacting Global Engagement at SCU, including potential impacts to students, faculty, and staff, can be found on our webpage U.S. Government Updates Impacting Global Engagement. This email is to advise our community that this webpage has been updated. 

Please note the opportunity for you to take action to tell Congress to reject the proposed 93% budget cut to the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, which would decimate international education exchange programs like the Fulbright, Gilman Scholarship for Pell Eligible Students to Study Abroad, and the International Visitor Program university partnership capacity building program. These cuts would have a significant impact on students, faculty, and staff in our SCU community. 

Additionally, we are in direct communication with relevant students, faculty, and staff when specific members of our community may be impacted based on their situation. See SCU’s Global Community By The Numbers.
