Happy Earth Day! Happy Easter Octave!
The Jesuit Community in Berkeley invites all JST students, faculty, and staff to a “Thank God It’s Friday (TGIF)” reception at Chardin House, 2621 Ridge Road, Berkeley, on Friday evening, April 22, following the 5:15 p.m. Mass. Come to celebrate with M.Div. students who will have completed their written comprehensive exams, and all students completing theses and final projects.

Walk the Line: The Tensions of Feminist Catholicism
Elise Dubravec, JST M.Div. student, is convening this roundtable, which will include Julie Hanlon Rubio, JST Professor of Christian Social Ethics, as well as Joanna Thompson, Director, SCU Office for Multicultural Learning, and Sally Vance-Trembath, Senior Lecturer, SCU Religious Studies Department. You may register for the Zoom meeting here. JST will also screen this roundtable in the Manresa Room that evening, following the 5:15 p.m. Mass, and Soup Supper.

On Wednesday, May 11th at 11am, members of JST's Laudato Si' Action Platform will gather at the JST courtyard bell outside the Gesú Chapel to host a prayer service calling attention to the urgency of the climate crisis. In addition to offering a lament for the destruction of the Earth, we will also implore those in power to act with compassion and justice toward creation to reverse the harm that has been done to our planet. Please mark your calendars now to join us for this powerful witness to our fragile Earth, our common home.
