Fr. John C. Endres, S.J.
Mass of Christian Burial for Fr. John Endres, S.J. will be celebrated on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 10:00am at St. Mary Magdalen Church, located at 2005 Berryman Street, Berkeley, CA. You may view attend via live stream on the church's YouTube or on their Facebook site.
Simple reception to follow on the terrace at Chardin House (2621 Ridge Road, Berkeley).
We are forming a JST choir to sing for the Mass. If you would like to join as a singer or instrumentalist, please contact Aric Serrano at aserrano@scu.edu. We will rehearse in the JST Chapel on Friday, February 18, at 3 p.m.
JST Events
After the 5:15 p.m. Mass on Tuesday, February 15, all are invited to stay for a few moments to share ideas for JST community events, activities, and gatherings this semester. If you cannot come at that time, please send ideas to pkircher@scu.edu.
StrengthsFinder Workshop, Wednesday, March 16, 2022, 2:00-5:00 p.m., Loyola Room, 3rd floor
Presenter: Clare Ronzani
StrengthsFinder is a tool designed to identify one’s particular skills, talents and strengths. The focus of this workshop for JST students will be clarifying strengths and innate gifts for ministry and leadership. Participants are required to complete an online survey beforehand that will produce individualized results. StrengthsFinder 2.0 book and survey access code will be provided. Please contact Deborah Ross at dross@scu.edu no later than Friday, February 25 at 12 noon to register and to make sure you will be included in the book order.
Clare Ronzani has served as JST’s Career Advisor and has taught courses in spirituality at JST-SCU. Currently she offers workshops, spiritual direction and retreats.
Marco Martinez, SJ, JST doctoral student, will join a group of students from Santa Clara University and other west coast universities for a conversation on Zoom with Pope Francis on Thursday, February 24, at 10 a.m. PST. This will be screened at JST in the Manresa Room. See Building Bridges North-South: A Synodal Encounter between Pope Francis and University Students.
San Francisco Tour, Friday, February 25, 1-5 p.m.: All JST students are invited to join the Renewal sabbatical students for a tour by van of sites in San Francisco, including Grace Cathedral and Golden Gate Park. Join us for this fun excursion with fellow students to beautiful locations in the city. Please RSVP with Carrie Rehak, crehak@scu.edu by Friday, February 18.

- Teaching opportunities at St. Ignatius Preparatory, San Francisco: On Wednesday, February 16, JST alumni Patrick Lannan and Kelly Miguens, from the Religious Studies Faculty of St. Ignatius Preparatory, will visit JST to meet students who are interested in teaching positions for both the coming academic year 2022-23 and subsequent years. Patrick and Kelly will be in the Compania lounge space or the outdoor patio on the ground floor of JST.
