Hard Labor, 1995
In the city, migrants make use of their rural skills to earn a living.
Men like the one pictured continue to engage in hard, physical labor
to make ends meet. Neither size nor weight discourage these human
"horses", who charge a fee for carrying items from the point of sale
in 16 de julio to a home, office or vehicle. This man carries
a wooden door on his back with the help of a plastic cloth (manta),
much the same way peasants carry heavy loads in the campo.
