How a Cerebral Hemorrhage Altered My Art – A Lecture by Katherine Sherwood Berkeley-based artist Katherine Sherwood talks about the ways in which art, medicine, and disability intersect in her mixed-media paintings. Her works juxtapose abstract medical images, such as cerebral angiograms of the artist’s brain, with fluid renderings of ancient patterns, thereby exploring and revealing the strange nature of our time and current visual culture. This lecture is co-sponsored by the de Saisset Museum and the Department of Art and Art History.
