Loan Requests

The de Saisset Museum lends works from the permanent collection to other museums and art organizations. Institutions wishing to borrow objects or works of art from the de Saisset Museum should send a written loan request that includes:

  • Complete lender contact information
  • Reason for the loan
  • Exhibition details
  • Loan and exhibition dates (loans must have an end date)
  • Proposed travel arrangements
  • Proposed insurance arrangements
  • Complete information on other institutions where the objects will be exhibited, if the exhibition will tour
  • A facilities report from the borrowing institution and any other institutions, if the exhibition will tour

Please submit loan requests to the de Saisset Museum at least six months in advance of the transportation date. Loan requests may be sent to:

Permanent Collection

The de Saisset has an extensive collection of more than 11,000 objects collected in six main areas: California history, liturgical vestments, works on paper, painting and sculpture, new media, and decorative arts.
