Paul Locatelli, S.J.: Photographs
February 25 - June 12, 2011

For two decades, Paul Locatelli, S.J. (1938-2010) served as President of Santa Clara University. Known by many for his compassion, generosity, vision, and leadership, Father Locatelli left an indelible mark on SCU. Though his accomplishments during his tenure as President are numerous and important, Father Locatelli also nurtured a lesser-known creative side. He was a photographic hobbyist who could turn a simple scene into a beautiful image in the same way that he could transform a good idea into a great reality. Gathered from the collections of the Locatelli family and Santa Clara University, this exhibition features a selection of images taken by Father Locatelli throughout his long career at Santa Clara. The images speak to his home here at SCU and to his travels, but most importantly they provide a tiny glimpse into the world as it was seen by Paul Locatelli, S.J.
