Archives and Special Collections
The Archives and Special Collections is home to the Library's special collections and University archives. Materials are non-circulating and available for use by SCU students, faculty, staff, courtesy card holders, and the general public in the Archives and Special Collections Reading Room. Access to Archives and special collections materials is by appointment, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. To schedule an appointment, contact Archives & Special Collections staff or the appropriate subject specialist.
COLLECTIONS INCLUDE:
- California Collection
- Nonfiction materials on all aspects of life in California and fiction materials with a California setting are housed in this collection.
- Research Collection
- Many of the library's old and fragile volumes are kept in this collection.
- Rare Book Collection
- A collection of rare and fine print materials make up this collection.
- Thesis Collection
- This collection contains senior theses (past 10 years only), master's theses, and Ph.D. dissertations written by Santa Clara students.
- University Archives
- Includes University records, archives and manuscript collections, faculty publications, and other special collections in many formats. Books, maps, manuscripts, artifacts, photographs, and audiovisual materials are represented.
