Archives & Special Collections
The Department of Archives & Special Collections houses the University Library's rare books and manuscript collections, the University Archives, and the California Jesuit Province Archives. Materials are non-circulating and may be viewed in the Martin F. Norman Reading Room by University students, faculty, staff and members of the general public. Patrons are required to abide by our Access Policy. For more information, feel free to contact us.
Included Collections
- California Collection
- Nonfiction materials on all aspects of life in California and fiction materials with a California setting are housed in this collection.
- Research Collection
- Many of the library's old and fragile volumes are kept in this collection.
- Rare Book Collection
- A collection of rare and fine print materials make up this collection.
- Thesis Collection
- This collection contains senior theses (past 10 years only), master's theses, and Ph.D. dissertations written by Santa Clara students.
- University Archives
- Includes University records, archives and manuscript collections, faculty publications, and other special collections in many formats. Books, maps, manuscripts, artifacts, photographs, and audiovisual materials are represented.
