Stitching Stories of Miracles and Memories
Exhibit
Multicultural Reading Area, 2nd Floor
January 14 - April 1Stitching Stories of Miracles and Memories is an exhibition that features embroidered and appliquéd fabric pictures called cuadros, created by the women of two art cooperatives, Manos Anchashinas and Compacto Humano, located in Pamplona Alta, on the outskirts of Lima, Peru.
In cooperation with our campus-wide diversity theme, Legacies, we celebrate and explore the legacies of these women, in the form of their created visual narratives, that depict their previous life in the countryside, experiences of migration, and current realities in the shantytowns.
