Fine Policies

General Circulation Materials

Regular items

Fines accrue from the due date at this rate:

  • $ .50 per day for the first 4 days.
  • $1.00 per day thereafter.
  • Maximum fine is $15.00 per book

Recalled items

Fines accrue from the due date listed on the recall notice at this rate:

  • $1.50 per day for the first 4 days.
  • $2.00 per day thereafter.
  • Maximum fine is $32.00 per recalled book

Reserve Materials

Fines accrue from the due date/time at these rates:

For 2 hour items:

  • $5.00 for the first hour overdue.
  • $1.00 per hour thereafter.
  • Maximum fine is $25.00

For 1-7 day items:

  • $5.00 per day
  • Maximum fine is $20.00

Videos and DVDs

In-house Use Only

Fines accrue from the due date at this rate:

  • $5.00 per hour
  • Maximum fine is $115.00

Fine Payment

  1. Fines are due and payable upon return of overdue items (general circulating and reserve materials). You will be notified when checking out materials that you have fines which need to be paid.

  2. If not paid immediately, fines will be kept on line until a Statement of Charges is issued. Ten (10) days later they will be billed to Student Accounts with additional, non-refundable billing charges.

  3. Your checkout privileges will be blocked if you have unpaid fines above a certain amount.
