Lingua Vitae

Lingua Vitae (“Language of Life”) is a Virtual Reality experience to help you learn the Latin language...in ancient Rome! With this six chapter supplement to a first year college Latin course, students can converse with everyday ancient Romans in Latin in 46 BCE while learning more about the history and culture of Rome. A joint collaboration between Classics, led by Lissa Crofton-Sleigh, and the Imaginarium, this experience was researched and developed over 7 years by a team of Santa Clara students, faculty, and staff. Lingua Vitae was sponsored in part by several internal grants, including a Teaching and Technology Grant and multiple 2FURS awards, as well as a Professional Development Contingent Faculty Grant from the Society for Classical Studies.
