Winter Break 2023

The Residence Halls close Friday, December 8th, 2023 at 9:00pm for winter break. Students may leave belongings in their space, but must turn off all appliances and remove all perishable items before departing from campus. Res-halls re-open Sunday, January 8th at 9:00am. 

Neighborhood Units and University Villas remain open for the full duration of winter break.

Fall Quarter 2023 Extension Requests: With the exception of the University Villas and Neighborhood Units, all residence halls close for the Winter Break at 9:00 PM on Friday, December 8, 2023. If needed, based on your finals schedule or travel home, you may request an extension to stay in your residence hall until 9:00 AM on Saturday, December 9, 2023. If you need to stay beyond 9:00 AM on Saturday, December 10, 2022, you will need to make alternative arrangements.  

All requests for extending your check-out must be submitted via the online form by 9:00 AM on Thursday, November 30, 2023. To complete the Extension Request Form, please login to your housing portal. 

Extensions are granted to individuals and not by room. Please note that you do not have an approved extension until you receive written approval from the Housing Office via your SCU email address. All notifications will be made by early in the week of December 5th. We reserve the right to deny your request or require additional documentation based on your current disciplinary standing with the University and the Offices of Housing & Residence Life.
