Bellomy Field is for use by current Santa Clara University students, faculty, staff, and pre-approved scheduled rentals. A current/valid SCU ID or Valid Use Pass is required for those on the field, all others are trespassing. Santa Clara Police Department will be called. Priority field spaces go to scheduled events and activities. Field lights are only turned on for scheduled athletic and recreation programs. The following items are prohibited on Bellomy Field:
Food and beverages
Animals (dogs, etc.)
Chewing gum
Chairs
Smoking
Bicycles & skateboards
Sunflower seeds
Any pointed or sharp object
Motorized vehicles/scooters*
Golfing
*Persons with disabilities may utilize mobility aids or service dogs on the field
To help protect your field please close the entrance gate behind you.
Thefield is closed during severe inclement weather and scheduled field maintenance. See outdoor display for current maintenance schedule. To inquire if the fields/or track are open please call the Malley Center Front Desk (408) 554-4068.
Priority for use of the Degheri Tennis Center goes to scheduled events and activities. All events and activities must be scheduled through the Athletic Department by calling (408) 554-4063. If an event or activity is in session, please do not disturb participants. Inquire at the Malley Center Front Desk for when they will be finished.
Courts are limited to tennis use only and during posted hours.
Santa Clara University Men's and Women's Tennis teams have priority for practices and matches.
Only athletic non-marking footwear is permitted on courts (i.e. no cleats, running shoes or non-tennis shoes).
No bicycles, skateboards or rollerblades are permitted on the courts.
To protect the rights of eligible users:
Court use is limited to current students, faculty, staff, retirees, spouses, and alumni with a valid ACCESS card or VIP ACCESS card.
Each member may bring one guest. The Malley Center guest fee is not required for use of the Tennis Center unless you will also be using the Malley Center. Click on the "Guests and Minors" tab on this page to learn more about the Malley Center Guest Policy.
The entry gate to the tennis courts should not be propped open or opened for ineligible users at any time.
Priority for use of the Gymnasium, or one of the three courts, goes to scheduled events and activities. All events and activities must be scheduled through the Director of Recreation. If an event or activity is in session, please do not disturb participants. Inquire at the Front Desk for the event end time. Weekly schedules are posted outside the Gymnasium.
Hanging from the basketball rims or nets is not permitted.
Gymnasium use for informal recreation is limited to basketball, volleyball and badminton. Volleyball and basketball are always available and badminton can be set-up as requested.
Non-marking closed-toe athletic shoes must be worn on the courts.
Informal Basketball Guidelines:
Losing team players yield court to those waiting to play and may not participate until all individuals waiting have played.
Games are played to 11 points, with the winner winning by two.
Half court games are 3-on-3 and full court games 5-on-5 when individuals are waiting.
Disagreements are decided by a shot from the top of the key.
Informal Volleyball Guidelines:
Losing team players yield court to those waiting to play and may not participate until all individuals waiting have played.
Games are played to 15 points, with the winner winning by two.
There is a $5.00 guest fee per guest that is valid for one-day use.
Guests must be 18 years of age or older.
Guests and their sponsoring member must register with Malley Center Front Desk staff upon entry into the facilities. Upon request, all guests must present a picture ID with proof of age.
The sponsoring member must accompany their guest for the duration of their use of the facilities.
Guests are not eligible to enroll/participate in Intramural Sports or Lifetime Recreation Classes.
Guests are not allowed to bring their children.
Multiple visit guest passes, valid for four visits, are available at the Front Desk for $20.00. The guest passes are non-refundable, non-transferable and the Department of Athletics and Recreation is not responsible for lost or stolen cards. The guest must show photo ID when he/she uses the guest pass and still must come in with his/her sponsoring member.
Guests are not permitted to check out facility equipment.
The Campus Recreation staff cannot sponsor the general public.
Minors
Minor children (under 18 years of age) of students, faculty, staff and alumni may enter the facility free of charge.
Children (over 18 years of age) of students, faculty, staff and alumni may enter the facility as a guest and for the guest fee.
A Minor Registration Form must be completed by the parent annually.
A parent or legal guardian must accompany their minor/child/children under the age of 18 at all times in the facility.
Minors/children under the age of 16 are not permitted to use the Weight Room.
Participants gain entry into all facilities used by Campus Recreation, including the Pat Malley Fitness and Recreation Center, Degheri Tennis Center and Sullivan Aquatic Center by using their valid ACCESS card, VIP ACCESS, or Malley Center Membership card.
Any attempt to gain or provide unauthorized entry into athletic and recreation facilities may result in suspension of privileges.
All ACCESS cards and Malley Center Membership cards are non-transferable.
Members who forget their valid ACCESS card or Malley Center Membership card may check-in to the facilities by presenting a form of photo ID to the Campus Recreation staff. All members will be permitted to enter the building with an alternative photo ID once per quarter. After the first “look up” participants who fail to bring a valid ACCESS or Malley Center Membership card will be required to purchase a guest pass or return to the facility with their card.
Lost or stolen Malley Center Membership cards can be replaced for a $15.00 replacement fee.
Campus Recreation staff reserves the right to perform random identification checks to ensure the safety and security of all our patrons.
All items left within the facility will be collected and held for two weeks. Items left after two weeks will be donated to a charitable organization.
Valuable items will be turned into Campus Safety at the end of each month. Valuable items include driver’s licenses, jewelry, radios, cell phones, etc.
At the close of the facility, any ACCESS cards remaining at the Front Desk or otherwise turned in as lost cards, will be brought to the ACCESS Office in the lobby of Benson Center and placed in the VTS drop slot. Cards placed in the drop slot are retrieved when the ACCESS Office opens and held in a secured lost and found until the cardholder retrieves them.
All photography, videotaping, etc. must be pre-approved by the Director of Recreation.
When taking photographs or videotaping within the facilities, other patrons may not be photographed. Please do not approach patrons and request to take their photograph.
Photography for commercial purpose must be approved both by the Director of Recreation and the Office of Communication and Marketing.
