The heart of Santa Clara University’s campus is Mission Santa Clara de Asís, the eighth oldest of the original 21 California missions. The Mission dates back to 1777 and was the first Spanish outpost in the Santa Clara valley.
Although Mass takes place almost daily in the Mission, the Sunday night Mass (below) is a particularly popular tradition for many Santa Clara students. Concerts and weddings are also held throughout the year in the Mission.
