About Web Publishing Services

Web publishing at Santa Clara University is supported by the Office of Marketing and Communications, Information Services, the University Webmaster and Web Applications Developer in the Media Services department, and system and network administrators in the Information Technology department.

Campus organizations interested in developing or maintaining a Web presence on the University's main Web server (www.scu.edu) have access to the systems, training, and support listed below.

Web Marketing Strategy

Guidance and support for developing and effectively using your Web presence is available from the Office of Marketing and Communications.

Web Content Management

Campus organizations that present content to an external audience can establish a site within CommonSpot, the University-supported content management system for Web publishing.

Design and Editorial Services

The Office of Marketing and Communications provides design guidelines for Web publications, recommendations for digital image production, and editorial style standards.

Training

Assistance in analyzing audiences and information architecture, plus training and ongoing support for CommonSpot users is provided by the Office of Marketing and Communications and the University Webmaster. The Orradre Library technical training office also offers training programs including open lab workshops, contributor training, site administrator refresher training, and advanced site administrator training.

Technical Support

Web site access statistics, data backup and recovery, technical standards compliance testing, and Web application development support are provided by Media Services and Information Technology department staff.
