Oklahoma Clean Slate Law Details
Oklahoma passed a Clean Slate in 2022. Records eligible for automatic sealing include non-conviction records, misdemeanor convictions five years after sentence completion with no pending charges or felony convictions, and some non-violent felony convictions five to ten years after sentence completion. To be eligible to seal felony conviction records, the person must not have more than two felony offenses, and serious violent and sex offenses are excluded. Felony convictions for offenses reclassified as misdemeanors are also eligible for automatic sealing.
In Oklahoma, sealing a record means that it will no longer show up on background checks for most jobs and occupational licenses, and you can answer most questions about your criminal record as if it never occurred. After 10 years, the record may be deleted.
