Dear Students,
I am pleased to share an exciting update about the future of student medical services.
Beginning August 1, 2026, Sutter Health, a leader in California healthcare, will provide students with convenient access to cutting-edge medical services and expanded specialty care at a new location adjacent to campus. Students will receive medical services at the Bronco Student Health Clinic, conveniently located in the Sutter University Square Care Center at 1111 Washington Street, maintaining the ease of access you’re accustomed to while expanding the scope and availability of care. [See map at the end of this email.]
Medical services will continue without interruption at the Cowell Center through June 11, 2026.
The New Expanded Care Model
This transition is an opportunity to expand the healthcare resources available to our students. By moving medical services from the Cowell Center to a nearby, state-of-the-art Sutter Health facility, students will gain access to high-quality, comprehensive care, cutting-edge medical services, and expanded specialty care, including on-site diagnostic imaging and laboratory services.
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), SCU Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and access to the Registered Dietitian will remain on campus.
What to Expect During the Transition:
- Year-round care: One of the most significant benefits of this change is year-round availability. Unlike our current services, which operate during the academic year, Sutter Health will offer care 12 months a year—ensuring you have consistent support whether you are on campus for classes, the summer, or any time in between.
- All degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate students will have access to these services regardless of their health insurance plan. This reflects our continued commitment to making healthcare accessible, convenient, and responsive to your needs.
- Additional Information: To help you get acquainted with these new resources, more information will be shared via email, and information sessions will be offered later in the spring term.
We know a change like this comes with questions, and we want to make sure you have answers. Throughout the spring term, we will share a dedicated Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) webpage with everything you need to navigate this change with ease.
We are excited about what this opportunity means for our community, and we look forward to ensuring every Bronco has the support they need to thrive.
Go Broncos,
Jeanne Rosenberger
