Mid-Autumn Moon Festival 2025

October 6, 2025 is the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival and the Mooncake Festival. This festival is celebrated in Chinese culture and in countries like Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Taiwan, and the Philippines. The festival is a joyous celebration with family reunions, mooncakes, parades, and lanterns.

On the day of the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival, families often enjoy meals together and make festival lanterns. It is common to burn incense and watch performances of dragon and lion dances. Making and sharing mooncakes is one of the hallmark traditions of this festival, as the round shape of the mooncakes symbolize completeness and reunion in Chinese culture. Enjoying mooncakes among family members during the week of the festival signifies the completeness and unity of families, and they are often given to loved ones as gifts.
