In order for hourly staff, and student employees to be paid on time on Monday, October 23, 2023, their timesheets for the pay period ending on October 15, 2023, must be approved by 12:00 PM today, Tuesday, October 17, 2023.

Open Enrollment begins November 7 and closes on November 27
As mentioned in an email sent on 10/13/2023, Benefits Open Enrollment will begin on November 7 and go through November 27. To assist with the transition, we are hosting webinars and events to assist you in making your elections. In addition, you may contact our Benefits team at scu-benefits@scu.edu with questions or to schedule one-on-one consultations. The following is a summary of changes that will be made to our program effective January 1, 2024.
Medical/Dental Plan Changes
Kaiser HMO
Blue Shield Trio
- The Blue Shield Trio HMO plan will be replaced with Aetna Whole Health (AWH) HMO.
Blue Shield Access+ HMO
- Blue Shield Access+ HMO will be replaced by Aetna HMO.
Blue Shield PPO
- Blue Shield PPO HDHP will be replaced with Aetna PPO (OAMC) HDHP.
- The University will continue to contribute $50 monthly to the HSA account for any employee enrolling in the Aetna PPO HDHP plan in 2024.
- The Aetna PPO HDHP will closely match the current Blue Shield PPO HSA Plan.
Delta Dental
- Delta Dental will be replaced with Guardian
- Through Guardian, members will be able to roll over a portion of unused annual maximum to future years
Health Saving Account (HSA) Contribution Limit – The HSA contribution limits for 2024 are $4,150 for self-only coverage and $8,300 for family coverage. Those 55 and older can contribute an additional $1,000 as a catch-up contribution.
Healthcare Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Contribution Limit – the maximum contribution limit for 2024 has yet to be released by the IRS.
Transit Contribution Limit – the monthly contribution limit for 2024 has yet to be released by the IRS.
Healthcare Waiver Credit - The $75/ pay period contribution for employees waiving their medical coverage is still in effect.

The Assistant Director reports to the Director, Packaging. This is a full-time, full-year position. The Assistant Director serves as a counselor in the Financial Aid Office; assesses aid eligibility for applicants, explains financing options, prepares awards, and adheres to federal, state, and University policies and procedures. As well, this position provides support to the Financial Aid Office staff. This position will be responsible for administering and coordinating financial aid applications, packaging and awarding of aid, scholarship programs, and the proper distribution of institutional, state, federal, and private funds to all undergraduate students.
Reporting to the Senior Assistant Dean of Finance & Administration, the Manager of Operations is responsible for daily operations of the Leavey School of Business (LSB) within Lucas Hall including all building, classroom, facilities, and budget related matters. The position requires confidentiality, discretion, and independent judgment, and it requires continuous interaction with staff, faculty, and students.
The floater/enrichment teacher is responsible for working in various classrooms with children between the ages of 10 weeks to 6 years old. This is a team-teaching position and the Teacher works with the Director and other teachers to plan and implement an appropriate educational program. This is a growth-oriented and collaborative learning community committed to our mission and core values. This is a .75FTE fixed-term position ending on 6/30/2024 and may be extended or converted to regular based on business needs and funding.

We are six months into the annual performance cycle. If you haven’t done so already, now is a good time to review your goals for 2023-2024. In Workday, enter “My Goals” in the search bar. If you supervise, you may view your team’s goals by entering “My Team’s Goals.”
HR Office Hours
Our normal hours of operations are Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Additionally, HR staff will continue to be available via Zoom, email, phone, and by appointment.
