Dear Undergraduates:
I hope the quarter is going well for you. I write with some important updates about summer registration, billing, payment plan, financial aid, Pass/No Pass, and course load limits. Summer is a great time to fulfill Core, major, and minor requirements.
Registration
If you are considering enrolling in summer classes, this is a friendly reminder that registration is still open. Online registration is open in eCampus through May 31. Beginning June 1, payment of all costs will be required before Santa Clara will register students for their summer courses.
Due to the planned eCampus outage May 29 through June 1 (as announced in Kaz Joseph’s May 6 email), students may wish to register for summer classes by May 28. Students may enroll in summer classes until the last day to add a summer class as noted on the Summer Sessions 2021 calendar. To register for classes beginning June 1 or for questions about payment, please contact One Stop (408-551-1000 or onestop@scu.edu) for assistance.
Billing and Summer Payment Plan
For those of you who are enrolled in summer classes, summer bills were made available to view on eCampus on May 1. As a reminder, tuition is due by May 21. If someone else pays your tuition, please notify the individual that your summer bill is now available. Authorized Payers can view the billing statement using the Authorized Payer site, SCU Pay.
Students can enroll in a three-month payment plan for undergraduate summer tuition through their eCampus homepage. In order to avoid a $100 late fee, Santa Clara must receive your payment or you must enroll in a valid summer monthly payment plan on or before May 21.
To enroll in a payment plan:
- Log into eCampus at www.scu.edu/ecampus
- Choose the "Financial Account" tile
- Choose "SCU Pay Site" (Please ensure your pop-up blocker is disabled for the SCU Pay Site to properly open)
- Click on the "Payment Plans" link
The first payment and a $40 non-refundable enrollment fee are due upon enrollment in the plan. Participants must enter their bank account information, as subsequent payments will be pulled systematically from your bank account. An email will be sent to participants 10 days prior to the auto payment. For more information about the payment plan, please contact the Bursar's Office at 408-554-4424 or bursarpayplan@scu.edu.
Financial Aid
If you have already inquired about summer financial aid eligibility, please log into eCampus to ensure any summer financial aid has been accepted. If you are interested in learning more about financial aid eligibility for the summer term, please contact One Stop at 408-551-1000 or onestop@scu.edu.
Pass/No Pass Policy
Pass/No Pass (P/NP) will return to the standard policy this summer. Students may take one summer class P/NP. Information about the policy is available in the 2020-2021 Undergraduate Bulletin. The deadlines to declare P/NP for summer classes are posted on the Summer Sessions 2021 calendar.
Summer Sessions Calendar
Please review the Summer Sessions 2021 calendar for important information, including tuition refund dates. Please be especially mindful of the deadlines to drop classes to receive 100% tuition refund (less fees). It is critical that all class drop activity is completed prior to the posted deadlines, which are in Pacific Daylight Time. Additionally, July 5 (Independence Day observed) is an administrative holiday but not an academic holiday; offices will be closed, but classes still meet.
Course Load Limits Policy
The intensive pace of Sessions 1, 2, and 3 require the following restrictions on summer course loads:
- Session 1: Students may not enroll in more than 10 units during this session.
- Session 2: Students may not enroll in more than 10 units during this session.
- Session 3 (A, B and C): Students may not enroll in or attend more than one Session 3 lab science (chemistry or physics) course at a time. If enrolled in or attending a Session 3 lab science course, students may not be simultaneously enrolled in or attending a Session 1, 2, or 4 course.
Should you have additional questions or need more information, please contact the Office of Summer Sessions at scusummer@scu.edu.
Sincerely,
Allyson Morris
Director, Summer Sessions
