Steve O'Brien '98

President

Steve O’Brien graduated from Santa Clara University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Economics.  He earned his law degree in 2001 from the University of Southern California.  After practicing finance and real estate law for three and half years, he returned to Santa Clara to pursue a career in college athletic administration.  Currently, Steve works as the Director of Development, Bronco Bench Foundation in Santa Clara University’s Athletic Department.

 

In addition to serving on Santa Clara’s Alumni Board, Steve has also been involved with the alumni activities of his secondary school alma mater, Bellarmine College Preparatory.    

 

When he’s not working, Steve enjoys athletic competition of all kinds.  As a former member of Santa Clara’s Men’s Cross-Country Team, Steve still runs regularly and hopes to qualify for the Boston Marathon.  As a former student-athlete at Bellarmine and Santa Clara, he enjoys watching current student athletes strive to achieve their goals on and off the field.

Laurie Hernandez '85

Immediate Past-President

Now a Private Banker at Northern Trust, Laurie graduated from SCU with a B.S.C degree in Finance in 1985. Her term as president of the Alumni Association began in May 2006. Plans for the 06-07 year include continuing outreach to SCU alumni and the update of the Alumni Association's five year
strategic plan.

In addition to serving on the SCU Alumni Board, Laurie is active with the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula and currently serves as the president of its board of directors. A passion for travel and sailing rounds out some of Laurie's personal interests.

Laurie makes her home in Menlo Park, CA.
