Society of Physics Students

sps_header

The Society of Physics Students is a professional association explicitly designed for students. Membership, through collegiate chapters, is open to anyone interested in physics. The only requirement for membership is that you be interested in physics. Besides physics majors, our members include majors in chemistry, computer science, engineering, geology, mathematics, medicine, and other fields.

The SCU chapter participates in service projects and physics competitions. For fun, students plan social events and field trips. Field trips may include visits to NASA, SLAC, Lick Observatory, lectures at Stanford and camping.

Summer Research

There are numerous opportunities for undergraduate physics students to participate in research. Many organizations including national laboratories, universities, and companies sponsor research for undergraduates each summer. Students who are interested should follow the link below for a listing of current opportunities and specific information.  Research Opportunities
