The Major
The Psychology Major course requirements are designed to lay a strong foundation in statistics and research methods while exposing students to the following content areas within Psychology: biological, developmental, applied, social, personality, learning, cognition, and perception. Upper-division electives allow students to explore additional topics in Psychology. Some of these topics include close relationships, diversity, gender, education, and sleeping/dreaming.
Psychology majors have the opportunity to participate in undergraduate research and to gain applied experience through Arrupe Placements and Internships/Practica (PSYC 198). Students may elect to focus their Psychology Major on the study of aging or psychobiology. Multiple levels of advising resources are available to help students plan their major and prepare for graduate studies and careers in Psychology.
