Business Ethics in the News features a teacher-student discussion of the week's top business ethics stories discussed by Professor Kirk O. Kirk O. Hanson is Executive Director of the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics at Santa Clara University and John Courtney Murray S.J. University Professor of Social Ethics, positions he has held since 2001. In 2001, he took early retirement from Stanford University where he taught in the Graduate School of Business for 23 years and is now an emeritus faculty member.
Patrick Coutermarsh is a senior at Santa Clara University studying economics and philosophy. He is currently a Hackworth Fellow of the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics, toward which he founded and captained the Santa Clara Ethics Bowl Team. Patrick also assists on the Big Q, a project of the Markkula Center to facilitate dialogue on ethical dilemmas college students face.
