A streaming music service containing more than 35,000 tracks of music, spoken word, and natural and human-made sounds. Containing the complete recordings released by Smithsonian Folkways Recordings and other ethnomusicological collections, it contains a wide array of American ethnic and folk music, as well as traditional music from around the world. Also included are music from American history (from the Revolution through the Civil Rights era), an extensive collection of children's songs, and many speeches, readings of poetry and drama, and sounds from the natural world.
