Research Ethics & Compliance

Santa Clara is committed to the ethical, responsible conduct of research. To support faculty research and scholarship, we provide resources for research and compliance support in the following areas.

    Policies, procedures, and educational materials for faculty and students regarding research involving animals.  Information about the Animal Care and Use Committee is also included.

    Policies, procedures, and educational materials for faculty and students regarding research involving radiation hazards including lasers, radioisotopes, and x-ray sources.

    SCU typically conducts fundamental research that does not require export controls.  Information about export controls and the SCU research openness policy is included.

    Educational materials and training for the responsible conduct of research including core instructional areas of data management, conflict of interest, human subjects, animal care, publication, peer review, mentor/trainee relationships, misconduct, and collaborations.

    Santa Clara University has selected EthicsPoint to provide simple, risk-free ways to anonymously and confidentially report activities that may involve criminal, unethical, or otherwise inappropriate behavior in violation of the University's policies.
