A Veteran’s Valor: Remembering Col. Warde “Skip” Chittenden ’59
Bronco Battalion Alumni, Colonel Warde “Skip” Chittenden was a highly-decorated combat veteran who graduated from Santa Clara University in 1959. During his distinguished 30-year military career, Col. Chittenden served as an U.S. Army Ranger—including two combat tours in Vietnam. He became a Ranger Instructor and authored the original Ranger Handbook. A distinguished member of the Ranger Training Brigade, Col. Chittenden was inducted into the Ranger Hall of Fame at Ft. Benning, GA in 2015.
