President's Speaker Series

It’s not too early to get your tickets for Santa Clara University’s President’s Speaker Series. SCU created the series this year “to increase the University’s visibility in the community as an intellectual resource, as a place where conversations about important issues take place,” notes Margaret Avritt, program manager of the event.

The next event is on April 19 and features Ayaan Hirsi Ali, author of The Caged Virgin: An Emancipation Proclamation for Women and Islam and of the screenplay for “Submission,” a film exploring the issue of Muslim women and violence.

Tickets sold out for January’s talk by 1995 SCU religious studies alumnus Reza Aslan. He addressed the issue of why the United States is losing the war against terror.

The event begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Louis B. Mayer Theatre. There is a suggested donation of $20. To order tickets by phone, please call 408-554-4400.
