1st Edition: June 19, 2026 - Welcome to SCU
Welcome to the Bronco community! We are so excited for you to join our Santa Clara family.
Throughout the summer, we will be sending these Transfer Bronco Prep Guides to help you register for your Orientation session, claim your SCU email account, navigate the onboarding process, and prepare for your arrival on campus.
In the email sent directly to students, updates were shared on these critical enrollment steps. Here's an example of what that looks like:
- Your Orientation registration is incomplete. Sign up for Orientation as soon as possible!
- If you're planning to live on campus, apply for housing at SCU right away. Housing is limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis, but there is still space available!
First: Technology Set-up
Here are some key steps to Get Enrolled that you should be working on now:
- Account Claim - This key step gives you access to your MySCU Portal, through which you’ll access several apps you’ll need to get enrolled! And this sets up your SCU email account. We have instructions online to assist you.
- Duo 2-Factor Authentication - Setting up Duo is required to access Google Workspace, Workday, Microsoft 365, your email account, and many other systems at SCU.
- Please complete Duo 2-Factor Authentication within 30 days of claiming your account, or your Duo setup link will expire. If it expires, you will need to contact the Technology Help Desk for assistance.
- Workday Onboarding steps (Requires Duo Authentication)
- Workday is our student information system. You will use it to update your personal information, complete a FERPA release, add authorized payers, and accept your financial aid award.
- Workday is also the platform you will use to enroll in classes during Orientation, so it is important to complete your Workday Onboarding as soon as possible.
- Note on Financial Aid Award Steps: No action is required to accept institutional scholarships or grants, as these will be accepted on your behalf. You will only need to accept or decline any offered federal student loans or work-study.
Next: Math and Language Placement (if needed)
Depending on your major and your transfer credits, you may need to take the Calculus Readiness Exam and/or complete our Language Placement process.
Jesuit Traditions and Santa Clara Values
Throughout our Bronco Prep Guides, we’ll introduce you to our Jesuit traditions and share some of our core values.
One hallmark of the Jesuit educational tradition is cura personalis - a Latin phrase you’ll hear a lot on campus - that means “care for the whole person”. At Santa Clara, you’ll have opportunities to develop your mind, body, and spirit to help you make a positive difference in the world.
