SCU Web Team
Reminder: Accessibility Site Monitor
Colleagues,
Thank you for your continued partnership and for helping us make our web content accessible to everyone.
As a reminder, all digital platforms are required to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standards.
We want to share that we are working toward the next level of compliance, WCAG 2.2. Since switching to this standard introduces a handful of new accessibility issues on our sites, we will temporarily stop blocking webpages with accessibility problems in TerminalFour (T4) for 4 weeks to give you time to address page-level issues and to give us time to work on template-level issues. Currently, there are 230+ accessibility issues overall, down from 27,000+ in December 2025. We’ve come a long way!
Our shared goal is to maintain compliance, prevent new accessibility issues, improve the overall quality of our sites, and continue making progress on PDF remediation. Please continue using the Site Monitor tool to help identify and remediate flagged accessibility issues.
Looking for a refresher on our Web Accessibility Compliance efforts, including previous communications? We invite you to visit the Web Accessibility Compliance site for helpful information and resources.
The new academic year brings new members to your team. To support seamless onboarding, Technology Training offers accessible web content workshops year-round. We invite you to register for specialized Sa11y training or explore our complete offering of general accessibility courses to enhance your skills.
Please reach out if you have questions. Your SCU web team is only a Zendesk web support request away.
Thank you,
Marc Ramos and Teri Escobar-Ochoa, Technology Training
Tony Pehanich and Ximing Feng, Web Development
Christina Olivas, Jacob Lin, Monica Bosque and Nancy Lewis, UMC
