Join us for a free lecture by Richard Painter, University of Minnesota law professor and former chief White House ethics lawyer in the Bush administration, on ethics in the White House. Painter is recognized as one of the leading experts on presidential ethics in the nation. He also serves as the vice chair for the Center for Ethics and Responsibility in Washington, which seeks to reduce the influence of money in politics and help foster a government that is ethical and accountable. | We welcome Cecilia Martinez as our newest Global Jesuit Visiting Fellow, joining us from the Center for Applied Ethics at Deusto University, the Jesuit university in Bilboa, Spain. Martinez, an industrial engineer with an M.A. in Ethics for Social Construction, has focused her research and expertise in corporate culture and ethics, and will be involved in the center's business ethics activities during her three-month stay here. | Our popular free Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), Business Ethics for the Real World and Ethics for Managers, are open for registration. In addition to offering the fundamentals of ethical decision making, the courses provide an international platform for conversation about ethical dilemmas that can arise in business. | San Jose's Liberty High School uses the Center's Character Based Literacy Curriculum to teach language arts and ethics to young people who face educational challenges. Literacy is improving at the school as students delve into what it means to be a good citizen. Read More
