The Reverend J. Barry McGannon, S.J., Award
This year, JAA will bestow The Reverend J. Barry McGannon, S.J., Award to an individual who has made a significant long-term commitment to Jesuit higher education and the advancement profession through service to their institution, or other Jesuit institutions and organizations.
- Distinguished himself/herself within the Jesuit system and contributed to the development of institutional advancement;
- Shared his/her ideas and experiences with others including fellow institutional advancement professionals through teaching, writing, and presentations;
- Established himself/herself as one whom others strive to emulate.
The award is presented every two years, when a sufficiently qualified and outstanding candidate is identified through the nomination process. Active or retired advancement professionals are eligible. The JAA Executive Committee seeks nominees who represent a balance between effective service to Jesuit higher education and leadership in volunteer service to Jesuit organizations. Nominees may include advancement professionals and other individuals who have served Jesuit higher education with distinction. Nominations for this award are requested from advancement professionals at the 27 Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States. All nominations must be submitted on the official McGannon nomination form, which is attached to this message. Nominations should include a résumé and other background information regarding the nominee's service to his/her institution, to Jesuit higher education, and to the Jesuit Advancement Administrators or other Jesuit organizations. The JAA Executive Committee will select the recipient.

The 2025 JAA Conference will be held July 20 - 22, 2025 at Santa Clara University.
