The University Archives has extensive holdings of more than 100,000 images available for research. The images, consisting of prints, negatives, slides, and contact sheets, are organized by source into collections. The collections include images created or accumulated by offices on campus, by individuals associated with the university, or by professional photographers.
A subject authority list serves as a retrieval guide for many of the photograph collections. Some collections have collection descriptions in the Library's online catalog.

Included are special collections of photographs taken by a particular photographer; gathered by a particular person to accompany a manuscript, research or personal collection; or that accompany and describe the life of a particular person. Eymann was the first professional photographer contracted/hired to document university people and events over a long period of time. Subjects include the campus and buildings, events and activities, in addition to portraits of students, faculty, and visitors to SCU.
