Phil Winston M.A. '05 has been chosen as the principal of Palo Alto High School. He taught special education in the Milpitas Unified School District before coming to Palo Alto in 2005, and has been the assistant principal at Gunn High School since 2007.
Phil Winston M.A. '05 is the new principal at Palo Alto High School. He plans to be an observable and accesible presence on campus. "It's about being open and visible and being with folks," he told the Mercury News.
Christine Wheeler MA ‘05 has joined Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage as a sales associate in its Morgan Hill office. In her new position, Wheeler will specialize in residential sales in the Gilroy and Morgan Hill areas. Prior to joining Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Wheeler worked at Brownell Fundamental School and Luigi Aprea Fundamental School in Gilroy as a teacher for sixth grade, then for kindergarten. She had been an educator for more than 20 years before beginning her new career in real estate. Wheeler earned a bachelor's degree in child development from Oregon State University and completed the teaching credential program through San Jose State University, earning a multiple subject clear credential. Most recently, she earned a master's degree in interdisciplinary education with an emphasis in reading from Santa Clara University.
Catherine (Cochrane) Western '05 and Andy Western '06 welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Grace Clara, on October 25, 2012.
Chris Wall ’05 is a law student at the University of Washington and was selected as an editorial board member of the new 2010-2011 Washington Journal of Environmental Law & Policy and the Washington Journal of Law, Technology & Arts.
Matt Tuttle '05 married Katy Shumm '05 at Mission Santa Clara on June 7th. The couple met freshman year and began dating during their junior year at SCU. Members of the wedding party included Kristin Belanger '05, Jessica Frank '05, Scott Almassy '05, Travis Salha '05, Travis Merz '05, Andrew Strockis '05, Alex Bruni '04 and Nick Dieringer '06. The newlyweds spent their honeymoon in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The couple lives in Willow Glen, Calif.
Katy (Shumm) Tuttle '05 and husband Matt Tuttle '05 welcomed their first child, Emily Kathleen, on Jan. 25, 2011. She was 8 lbs., 7oz. and 21.5 inches long. The family lives in Willow Glen, Calif.
Corina Morales '05 married Jeff Tunison '04 at the Santa Clara Mission on July 30, 2011. Elizabeth Simas '05, daughter of Ted '70 and Rita Simas, earned her Ph.D. in political science from the University of California, Davis in June 2011. She has a accepted a tenure-track position as an assistant professor at the University of Houston.
Amanda '03 and Timothy Shim '02 welcomed their third child, Jonah Keahi on May 10, 2010. Jonah joins proud big sisters Isabelle (2) and Chloe (4). The Shims are raising their family on the beautiful island of Maui and loving every minute.

Annie Selak '05, M.Div. '09 is serving as a Rector at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN. Annie graduated with her Master of Divinity degree in 2009 from the Jesuit School and Theology and worked for a year in Los Angeles as Director of Campus Ministry at Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy.
Joshua A. Sbicca '05 and Jennifer Grisaitis '06 were married by Paul Fitzgerald '80, S.J. on August 1, 2009 at Holly Farm in Carmel, California. Joshua is pursuing his Ph.D. in sociology at the University of Florida. Jennifer is entering her third year of medical school at the University of Florida.

Timothy Reed J.D. '05 and I-Lan Emily Lin welcomed their first child, Gavin Weixiang Reed, on Sept. 9, 2012.
Angelina Ramos ’05, a former pop music star, now teaches a leadership class at ACE Charter High School in San Jose, Calif. From Union City, Ramos decided to leave the glamorous life of a singer after fifteen years to return to her roots in the Bay Area. Read more here.

The happy couple lives in Long Beach, Calif.
Nancy Pineda-Madrid Ph.D. ’05, assistant professor of theology and U.S. Latino/a ministry at Boston College, has recently published Suffering and Salvation in Ciudad Juárez (Fortress, 2011), which addresses the question: How are we to understand faith in a God who saves given the extreme violence against female humanity identified as feminicide? This book argues that while Christian salvation must be interpreted as both personal and social, in the here and now of feminicide, we learn that community is the condition for the possibility of salvation.
Megan Hochstetler '05 married Jason Pierson on August 7, 2011 at Youngberghill Vineyards in McMinnville, Oregon. The outdoor wedding was attended by friends and family from across the United States and Europe. Ruth Stanton '06 was part of the wedding party. The couple currently live in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Michael J. Piellusch MS ’05 earned a doctoral degree from Argosy University after successfully defending his dissertation on leadership styles in the U.S. Army. He is now working as an adjunct professor at Argosy. He mentions Dr. Robert J. Parden, Engineering Management Department Chair, on his acknowledgements page.
