Professor of Practice
Richard Trevisan has 30 plus years of experience as a top level manager in the hi-tech aerospace industry as well as in commercial companies including Fairchild System Technology, Acurex Corporation, and Pratt & Whitney. He has successfully managed diverse functions during periods of rapid change, as well as managing all elements of business operations including accounting, business systems, material planning, procurement, contracts, program management, publications, and quality assurance. He also has extensive experience in negotiations.
Richard lectures as a Professor of Practice at the Leavey School of Business of Santa Clara University in the undergraduate program. He has taught 1) Business Ethics, 2) Management in Organizations, 3) Global and Cultural Environment of Business, and designed and taught courses in 4) Business Ethics in Practice, and 5) Project Management.
He has a special interest in the area of business ethics, and has published papers in this area. An additional interest is in non-profit organizations, which was the motivation for creating the course Business Ethics in Practice. Working with Habitat for Humanity East Bay Silicon Valley, he created an Experiential Learning for Social Justice course to help the students realize the unique role that business can play in improving our diverse society.
Richard holds a Master of Science degree in Procurement and Contracts Management from Saint Mary's of California, and a BA degree in Business Administration. He holds certifications from two professional organizations. He is a CPM with the Institute for Supply Management (National Association of Purchasing Management) and a CPCM with the National Contracts Management Association; in that organization he is a designated Fellow.
