Dr. Juan P. Montermoso
Lecturer in Marketing
As a Lecturer in the Department of Marketing, Dr. Juan P. Montermoso uses his extensive Silicon Valley experience to teach in the MBA program such courses as Competitive Marketing Strategy, Business-to-Business Marketing and Services Marketing. Dr. Montermoso joined the faculty after twenty-seven years as a Hewlett-Packard executive in marketing commercial systems, planning global channel programs, and incubating e-business initiatives. Internationally, he also fostered innovation both as Vice President for Management Information Systems for a Manila-based conglomerate and as a training specialist for the SGV Group, an Accenture partner in Asia. He is currently the President of Montermoso Associates, a high tech consultancy, which enables organizations to reach and retain their most profitable customers through integrated marketing and operations.
Prior to SCU, Dr. Montermoso was an adjunct faculty member with either MBA or Executive programs at Stanford University, the University of San Francisco, and the Ateneo de Manila University. In addition, he taught e-courses at St. Mary’s College of California and at Universitas21 Global (a consortium of 21 universities), where he earned an Excellence in Online Education Award. Dr. Montermoso has been recognized as a Homecoming Scientist by the Philippine government and is currently certified at the CPIM, CIRM, and CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) levels by APICS, the professional society for operations management.
Dr. Montermoso holds a B.S. in Engineering from Yale University, an M.S. in Computer Science from Harvard University, and a Doctorate in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School. In addition, Dr. Montermoso has published several papers on management and marketing and has been a featured speaker at international conferences.
