Guitar Ensemble
MUSC 47/147The SCU Guitar Ensemble is a hands on class that offers the students an opportunity to perform with fellow guitarists, singers, and other instrumentalists in studio performances, evening recitals, and casual performances for university functions. The repertoire is derived from the classical, jazz, latin, and world music traditions. In addition to a strong emphasis on sight reading standard musical notation and chord nomencalture, students are trained in jazz theory and improvisation to enhance spontaneity and creativity in their performances. Class meets Wednesday, 3.30 - 6.00pm in room MDF 119. Contact Mark Simons, Director for more information |
