Alumna Amanda Villegas (soprano) returns to SCU to perform Mahler's exquisite Rueckert Lieder with the SCU Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Emily Ray.
Other works on this mostly Germanic program include Weber's dramatic Overture to Der Freischuetz, Brahms' glorious Academic Festival Overture, and Johann Strauss' beloved waltz, Voices of Spring. Topping off the program is Rimsky-Korsakov's dazzling Capriccio Espagnol, with its toe-tapping Spanish tunes and brilliant orchestration.
