Son Santa ClaraMUSC 49/149
Son Santa Clara, named after the bedrock form of Cuban music called “son”, is dedicated to performance of music from Cuba’s eastern provinces. “Son” “quiriba” “changui “and “ nengon” are central to repertory. Son Santa Clara performed ( under license) throughout Cuba and for east coast and west coast U.S. institutions. Often joined in performance by professionals representing Cuban and Latin music, most students joining the group participated in SCU’s Cuba study abroad program. The group is directed by SCU music faculty Robert Bozina. Entrance is open to all students, by audition only. For more information, please contact Professor Bozina at rbozina@scu.edu |
