Santa Clara University Ethics Bowl
The Santa Clara University Ethics Bowl Team competes in the California Regional of the Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl (IEB) and is sponsored by the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics.
Ethics Bowl is a team-based competition consisting of debate over a wide range of complex and pressing ethical issues. Topics include business and professional ethics, personal relationships, and social and political affairs. Teams of 3 to 5 offer their moral analysis on the case at hand, and judges evaluate the debate based on ethical analysis and logical rigor.
Santa Clara competes in the California Regional, alongside the following academic institutions: UC Santa Cruz, UC Santa Barbara, USC, San Jose State, Cabrillo College, National Hispanic University, Santa Barbara Community College, Asuza Pacific University, CSU-Chico, and Golden West College.
The California Regional is held annually in December, which serves as the qualifier for the National Tournament held in February.
