FACHEX
If you are a university employee eligible to participate in Santa Clara University's tuition remission program for dependent undergraduates, and your dependent will be applying to another FACHEX participating college, you may request that Santa Clara University send a notice of eligibility to that college. The eligibility notice can be prepared as early as the winter of your dependent's junior year in high school, or, if already attending college, as soon as you know he or she might transfer. Many times, however, a transfer student is not considered for the benefit. The transfer student policy varies by school. Twenty-seven of the twenty-eight Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States participate in the program.
You are not guaranteed a FACHEX tuition benefit at your selected college. Jesuit colleges voluntarily participate in the FACHEX program, and each determines the maximum number of FACHEX awards available on their campus. Most of the participating Jesuit colleges have waiting lists of eligible FACHEX students. Each school sets its own criteria for deciding who is going to receive the benefit. Click here for a current list of participating schools. You should contact the school of your choice directly concerning the possibility of any openings which might be available.
Click this link to download a FACHEX Eligibility Certification Form. Your eligibility will be certified on the form and it will be forwarded to your selected college. Please note that after we certify your eligibility to participate all further contact concerning the FACHEX Program will be directly between you and your chosen school. The Financial Aid Office has no involvement in the selection process.
Effect of Receiving FACHEX Tuition Remission from Another School on your Dependent's Santa Clara Tuition Remission Eligibility at a Later Date
If your dependent child is selected to receive FACHEX tuition remission benefits at another Jesuit college, then Santa Clara University is committed to selecting an eligible incoming student from our waiting list to receive FACHEX tuition remission here. Since demand to attend Santa Clara University under this program is very strong, we will always have eligible students waiting to fill any spot created by your receipt of benefits elsewhere. Therefore, the tuition remission benefit your dependent would have received here will be assigned to an eligible FACHEX student. If your dependent child is later admitted to Santa Clara University as a transfer student, he or she will not be eligible to receive dependent tuition remission benefits while completing their undergraduate degree here.
