World AIDS Day, held each year on December 1st, is a day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection. It is a day of observance and remembrance of those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. This year Santa Clara County's World AIDS Day was a day of events including a poster and video contest for Teens and Young Adults, a commemoration ceremony, and a Hike and Bike starting all from our own Santa Clara University!

World AIDS Day was presented by groups both on and off-campus, such as Valley Medical Center Foundation, the Health Trust, Ira Greene Partners for AIDS Care and Education (PACE) Clinic, and Santa Clara University Department of Public Health, as well as SCU clubs and organizations such as the FACE AIDS club, the Public Health Club, and Santa Clara Community Action Program (SCCAP).
