Sustainability internship opportunity with City of Cupertino
These programs are run from the Office of the City Manager, and offer students exposure to working in the sustainability field in both a business and neighborhood context. This is a great opportunity for students to get hands-on experience working in a public agency, quantifying energy and water savings, assisting in the development of public environmental programs, and performing outreach around sustainability. Full-time summer interns will also complete individual research projects on topics relevant to current programs that will aid their implementation. The application deadline is April 26, 2013.

Swap (Shop) Day
Donate clothes you don't want anymore between April 15 and 21, and volunteers will sort everybody’s donations (students, staff, and faculty) over the weekend. On Monday, April 22, the Benson Parlors will become a store! Some of the items collected (socks, shoes, some sports equipment, formal dresses, children’s clothes, some business clothing) will support local community organizations. Shoes and socks go to Project Open Hand, formal dresses will go to the Princess Project, children’s clothing will go to the children of the two Home Safe shelters in San Jose and Santa Clara. Finally, sports equipment and children's books will go to various local organizations serving children and youth.
After the store closes on Monday, the remainder of donations will be picked up by Hope Services.
