  •  Students give back during move-out week

    For Santa Clara students, the first few weeks of June often bring the tragic collision of warm weather and finals. Mix in move out, and June becomes an all-out sprint to finish classes, catch up with friends, take advantage of sunny days and pack up your life. But in the rush of it all, students this year made a point to slow down and give back, and set a record for donations in the process.

    The Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University offers many great networking opportunities for students ranging from the Retail Management Institute to the Accounting Association to professional fraternities. Sophomore Adrienne Syme, however, noticed that one important theme was missing from the current selection: sustainability.

    This month's "What Can I Do?" offers tips and tricks for seniors fresh out of graduation. Reduce emissions by carpooling to that new job. Reuse your old furniture. Check out your local recycling program. Make sure your new employer respects the environment and society.
