KOC Philosophy & Mission
Our Philosophy
We believe children are naturally curious, capable, and eager to learn. Rather than following a set, pre-planned curriculum, our teachers carefully observe children's interests, questions, and discoveries. These observations help guide the development of meaningful learning experiences that are relevant and engaging to the children in our care. Our emergent curriculum evolves from the children's ideas, conversations, play, and exploration. Teachers thoughtfully introduce materials, experiences, and opportunities that encourage deeper investigation, creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration.
Play is at the heart of our program. Through hands-on exploration, dramatic play, art, sensory experiences, outdoor learning, and social interactions, children develop important cognitive, language, physical, and social-emotional skills. We view play as children's most meaningful way of making sense of the world around them.
Our Mission
Educators at Kids on Campus foster children's individuality, encourage risk taking, nourish positive relationships, and stimulate creativity. Together, families and educators build a strong school foundation based on shared values. Through respectful role-modeling and caring relationships, we help children build confidence, and develop a sense of self and an awareness of others.
We follow three school rules:
We are kind.
We Listen to each other.
Everyone can play.
