Learn a little more about Kenneth Blaker

Kenneth Blaker taught two years at Southern Illinois University and in public schools in Arizona and Missouri before coming to Santa Clara. A graduate of the University of Arizona, he earned his PhD in Educational Psychology at Southern Illinois. Dr. Blaker was generally considered a behaviorist and worked at Santa Clara University from 1965-1994.

Dr. Blaker is considered the founding father of the Counseling Psychology program. He steered the program in its early days and oversaw its growth. Colleagues who worked with him describe him as charismatic, engaging, and a good spirit. His legacy lives on not only through this scholarship, but in everything we do at SCU in the Counseling Psychology Department he helped to start.
