Irina Raicu, Internet Ethics Program director at the Center, is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (U.S.) and was formerly an attorney in private practice. She also worked as a marketing communications specialist for two textbook publishing companies and taught writing courses at San Jose State University and Cal State University Hayward. She co-edited Transitions: Lives in America - a textbook for college writing courses. As a teenager, Raicu immigrated to the U.S. from Romania; her background informs her interest in the Internet as a vehicle for international communication as well as commerce, and as a tool whose use has profound ethical implications for all those who are impacted by it - whether or not they ever personally access the Web.
Raicu is a graduate of SCU's School of Law and holds a bachelor's degree in English from U.C. Berkeley, as well as a master's degree in English and American Literature from San Jose State University.
