Purpose:
With minimal supervision, provide technical and functional support, training and documentation for the University Finance Office.
I. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for PeopleSoft Financial applications
- Provide functional support for PeopleSoft Financial applications
- Provide training and documentation for PeopleSoft Financial applications
II. Specific Responsibilities
Provide technical support for PeopleSoft and interfaced systems
- Manage security for PeopleSoft
- Conduct periodic reviews of existing setups
- Create and test new security roles and permission lists to meet business needs
- Resolve end user access and security issues as reported through the IT Service Center or from the UFO staff
- Work with the CISO to security policies such as timeouts, password configuration and training
- Support reporting needs
- Troubleshoot complex private queries, nVision and Crystal , and SQR reports
- Streamline and promote common private queries to public queries or menu-driven reports
- Teach power users how to write their own queries or nVision reports
- Manage query security through the query trees
- Conduct change management and new function integration and testing
- Monitor new PS updates and releases and determine impact
- Conduct initial testing prior to user testing
- Conduct initial testing prior to user testing
- Manage primary troubleshooting of application and data issues and/or errors
- Triage incoming user error reports
- Identify and help resolve issues related to data and setups
- Replicate and document reported problem
- Report problems to OraclePeopleSoft Support as necessary
- Document and report problems to IT Developers with any possible causes and solutions
- Use system tools such as traces to identify source of problem
- Provide support for upgrades and projects
- Perform Fit/Gap analysis
- Create impact analysis documents for changes in functionality
- Work with the UFO department staff to implement changes
- Assist with the development of test plans and scripts
- Assist in the reconciliation of local modifications to new releases
- Coordinate and manage end user upgrade testing
Provide functional support for PeopleSoft
- Evaluate functional procedures and work with end users to identify and implement enhancements
- Review current business practices
- Review PeopleSoft functional offerings
- Integrate PeopleSoft current functions with business needs of end users
- Review new functionality with end users and assess usability
- Manage requests and translate business requirements to functional specifications (BRDs) working in close collaboration with the technical team and business users.
- Work with UFO departments and IT developers to analyze, design, test and implement new or modified software applications
- Work with developers to find ways of exploiting existing software to improve services to administrative departments
- Assist user community with functional responsibilities
- Coordinate batch processes among end user offices
- Provide support to power users with functional questions and issues
- Provide training and documentation for PeopleSoft applications
Provide training and documentation for PeopleSoft applications
- Provide one-on-one training with power users, enabling them to train others in their functional areas
- Develop documentation on typical functions and processes used within PeopleSoft and related tools
- Maintain internal documentation for locally developed PeopleSoft objects
III. Other Responsibilities
- Learn new skills through PeopleSoft and other training
- Attend Oracle Alliance and other professional conferences
- Special projects, as assigned
IV. Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of functional and setup requirements and table structures for PeopleSoft FSCM
- Advanced knowledge of Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Purchasing, Asset Management, Cash Management and Budgeting processes, particularly as supported by PeopleSoft applications.
- Working knowledge of Financial business processes and concepts
- 7+ years of experience supporting Financial departments
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Advanced Windows and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of SQL
- Comprehensive knowledge of PS Query and nVision
- Understanding of other technical tools such as PeopleTools (Application Engine, PeopleCode, Data Mover), SQR, COBOL, WinSQL and FTP.
- Fundamental knowledge of HTML, XML and web applications
- Comprehensive knowledge of systems analysis tools and techniques
- BA/BS or equivalent experience required
